Free left turn for cyclists into a contra-flow.

Two out of three lanes removed from the side road as part of 20mph programme. This has created a much safer junction for pedestrians and cyclists at a well known pinch point. Wands could then be carried further over the junction.

I think this means they want us to ride on the pavement.

The Bridge has finally reopened. After a gap of over three years you can now legally ride from Runcorn to Widnes - and bicycles don't have to pay the toll.

  • Icon 164632 There is a footpath joining the cycle network here... but the foot path along the A602 is on the other side of the bushes... consequently pedestrians are using the cycle path here because there is no where else to go... path here is also very narrow and could do with the bushes cut back to make room.
  • Icon 164631 The signs here clearly indicate this is shared use. Umm.... however at the end of the ramp there are no further signs to indicate that it is now cycle path and that the pedestrians should use the footpath which is a few feet away.... at this point as a pedestrian I can join the cycle network and walk for miles before I would see another sign saying it is no longer shared...
  • Icon 164630 The footpath ends here just before the cycle path drops down to go under the A602... but no signs to indicate where the pedestrians should go to continue their walk?
  • Icon 164629 Here is the end of a footpath leading onto the Cycle Network.. but there is another path on the other side of the bridge.... where are the signs for the pedestrians and cyclists? Is it shared path or not?
  • Icon 164628 This is part of the cycle network however there is a path here that just stops with no signage to indicate what should happen next... so surprise pedestrians use the cycle path to continue their journey.....where are the signs to say this is either cycle path or shared path?
  • Icon 164627 This is cycleway but it gets used by pedestrians who cannot be bothered to use the footpath on the other side of the bushes.... some signage would be useful here.
  • Icon 164626 This area is on the cycle network, but I believe it is actually shared with Pedestrians. There are signs of a white line to indicate where the path is, however it's almost disappeared and it's very over grown. Needs to be cleared and if it is shared path then the white line needs putting back in and some signage would be good....
  • Icon 164612 Provide a tarmac path between the end of Cow lane and the riverside path. This area gets very muddy for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Icon 164611 Because this is an uphill route, cyclists are travelling much slower than the cars and need a separated cycle lane to feel safe.
